Vocabulary goals include country names as well as international greetings to encourage students to try speaking new sounds without fear or embarrassment.
Grammar includes "What's your name?" for introducing yourself and asking others' names.

Goals
- Listen to people introducing themselves.
- Get used to hearing the new sounds of English.
- Listen to languages from around the world and try saying these new sounds/phonics.
Take time with this - it's all about getting the students to have fun and not be scared to make mistakes trying new sounds. A lot of students don't want to speak unless they are sure they have the correct answer and pronunciation. This activity shows them you have to make mistakes and that it's an ok part of the language learning process. - Try introducing ourselves.

Goals
- Remember that we have to try (even if we're not perfect - international greetings and trying new language sounds/phonics).
- Try hearing new sounds (in the form of foreign names).
- Make name cards (optional).
- Introduce ourselves and ask our partner's name.
Activities
For hearing new sounds:

- Name transfer game
Pretend we become other people, everyone introduces themselves as the last name they heard. - Walk around and talk to classmates (potentially exchanging cards that were made in the previous class).
