Try this version of the translate game to review or practice using him/her with junior high 1st graders (from the Sunshine 1 textbook Program 7-2).
|Level:||Junior high 1st grade|
|Works with:||I like him/her.|
|Class size:||Medium to large|
You will need:
- nothing (except to know how the grammar works)
Find the full description on the itty-bitty translation game page.
- Write all the English the students need on the blackboard.
Base Grammar: I like her. Exchange for: We know him. You love They know Mr. Watanabe*
*Note this will change the verbs to likes, knows, etc. Help students where needed.
- This is a grammar drill, so as always with this game, the more focused or the less there is for the students to change, the easier it will be and the more successful this activity will be.
- This is a variation of the itty-bitty translation game.
This warm-up worked well though in two separate classes students tried to say "I watch TV.", so maybe watch isn't the best verb for "I ____ him/her."
